The Pinzgau region has great climbing equipment for everyone – from beginners to pros, for adults and children!

Climbing tower at the Sport Centre Hinterglemm

Whilst some visitors are interested in a good tennis match , others look for another kind of challenge on the climbing tower at the Hinterglemm sports centre. The tower offers different routes in varying levels of difficulty.

Climbing hall Felsenfest in Saalfelden

Die Kletterhalle The Climbing Hall Felsenfest in Saalfelden is one of the most modern and biggest climbing halls in Austria. People of all ages and in all levels of ability can use the hall with and without a trainer. The hall also offers „therapy climbing“, bouldering, fixed rope route climbing, climbing analysis and special strength training for climbers. The total climbing surface measures 1.650 m². 150 m² are specifically reserved for the trend sport bouldering.

Climbing on the Kitzsteinhorn

Two climbing areas have opened just a 10–20 minute walk from the Alpincenter on the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun. Reach the Alpincenter, and consequently the climbing areas, easily and conveniently with the Kitzsteinhorn ascent and descent ticket.

Rettenwand climbing area

70 routes on solid, porous greenstone can be reached on skis – perfect, since these routes can be climbed in winter when the weather is good.

Gletscherseeplatten climbing area

A friction climbing area with 30 routes on the smoothed calcareous mica schist can be climbed from July until October.

Climbing gym in Leogang

Open: mid-September until the end of June. With a total climbing area of 256 m2, this climbing gym is perfect for lead climbing, seconding climbs and bouldering. Children and adults can embark on tours from three to nine degrees of gradient with a maximum height of 11m.

Climbing in Weißbach/Lofer

In Weissbach bei Lofer you will find a covered climbing wall where climbing afternoons for children are frequently held in summer.

Just behind the centre of Weissbach is a small but popular climbing garden for beginners and advanced climbers . You can also learn how to rock climb from the pros and give the sport of climbing a try!

The team at the Base Camp in Lofer regularly hosts climbing lessons and tours in Weissbach! Discover 12 climbing areas with around 600 routes. From beginners to pros, everyone is sure to find their own personal challenge here. Via ferrata tours are also held with secured routes.
